About us
Who is behind this.

pixel.map is made by pixelpoint, a software studio in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Austria. For 25 years we have built websites, apps and data platforms — for more than twenty of them mainly for destinations and tourism businesses in German-speaking countries. More about us: pixelpoint.at (Opens in a new tab)
Under the same roof works our subsidiary dataCycle (Opens in a new tab). Its data management system of the same name brings places to visit, events, tours and images together from many sources and delivers them to website, app and other channels — as a data hub for destinations in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. pixel.map grew out of this ecosystem: if you already manage your content centrally, you deserve a map that shows it the way guests know from the best apps.
Since 2019, pixelpoint and dataCycle have been part of the feratel group.
What matters to us: open standards instead of walls. The core of dataCycle is open source, and control over your data stays with you. We run the map infrastructure ourselves — vector tiles, routing, public transport connections and place search, hosted in the EU. No dependency on Google or Mapbox, and short paths when you need something.
pixel.map is the interactive map for tourism destinations. What it does for guests is on the product page; how it gets onto your website, on the technical page.
