Which data is collected when you visit this website and use the map, what we process it for, and what rights you have.

Controller

Which data we process

When you open this website and load the map, your browser transmits technical data to our servers in the EU: shortened IP address, date and time of access, the address requested, as well as browser type and operating system. This data is technically required in order to deliver the page and the map tiles, and it is recorded in server logs. Beyond that, we only process data that you send us yourself — via the contact form, for example.

Cookies and external services

pixel.map does not set any cookies for advertising or tracking purposes. There is therefore no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to beyond technically necessary delivery. We do not embed external services that would transfer data to third countries: no fonts from third-party servers, no third-party map services, no video platforms. Wherever data is processed, this happens on our own infrastructure in the European Union.

Technically necessary storage

What is technically necessary is a short-lived session key that holds your map settings for the duration of your visit — such as the selected mode of transport, zoom level and map section. This key contains no personal data and expires when your visit ends. In addition, the website stores your choice of appearance (light or dark) locally in your browser; this value never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings.

Getting in touch

If you use the contact form, you send us your name, email address, organisation, subject and message. This information is delivered to us solely as an email and used solely to handle your enquiry. Nothing is stored on the web server in the process: no database, no copy, no ticket system — if delivery fails, you receive an error message with an alternative email address. The technical logs of the form service contain no content, no names and no addresses, only a timestamp, the result and a random reference number. To protect against misuse, a short-term request limit applies per sender address (IP); this information is held transiently in memory and is gone again after a few minutes.

Launch notification

If you request the launch notification on the announcement page, you send us an email address. It is delivered to us as an email only and used for one purpose only: to tell you once that pixel.map has gone live. Nothing is stored on the web server — no database, no list, no newsletter tool. After the launch email we neither use the address further nor pass it on; if you would like to opt out before then, send us an informal email. Here too the technical logs contain no addresses, only a timestamp, the result and a random reference number. A separate short-term request limit per sender address (IP) protects against abuse.

Tools we use

This website currently does not embed any analytics or tracking tools. Should traffic measurement be added in future, it will work without cookies, without user profiles and on our own infrastructure — this statement will then be updated accordingly. Map, routing, timetable information and location search run on pixelpoint multimedia werbe GmbH’s own services on servers in the European Union; third-party map services are not used.

Purposes of processing

We process the data described above in order to deliver and reliably operate this website and the map services, to defend against attacks and misuse, and to answer the enquiries you send us through the contact form. There are no other purposes — in particular no advertising, no profiling and no sale of data.

Legal basis

The legal basis for the technical provision of the website and the map services, and for operational security, is our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The legal basis for processing contact enquiries is the performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Transfer

Your data is not passed on to third parties. For the delivery of form emails we use Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES, Frankfurt region, eu-central-1) as a processor; processing takes place on the basis of a data processing agreement within the European Union. No transfer to third countries takes place. We comply with official requests for information only where there is a statutory obligation to do so.

Retention period

Server logs are deleted automatically after a short period; the specific period will be determined in the course of the legal review of this statement and named here. Contact enquiries remain as emails in our mailbox and are deleted as soon as the enquiry has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way. The map’s session key expires when your visit ends, the form’s request limit after a few minutes.

Your rights as a data subject

You have the right to obtain information about the data processed about you, as well as the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise these rights, simply contact office@pixelpoint.at. You can also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
